I did a top swap on a 97 gt last fall, pretty much since then I think I have been plagued with the P0102 code. I just cleaned the maf and same thing. According to the info on the maf senor, I'm thinking it goes from l-r: signal wire, negative, positive. But when testing my harness from l-r: positive, negative, signal. I am going to check the fuse now. I have tried to cross the positive and signal and had the same error. Anyone have more info on this?

Ok I found the issue is the fuse, I have replaced it 3 times and each time it blows the fuse.

An option would be I have a perfectly good 98 TB with a brand new maff you could swap onto your carI have run this TB on my car and it works perfectly so if you installed this and you still have a problem you know its in the wiring ,let me know if you want to try this .Chico(pops)

According to Advanced Auto site, the maf for the gt and gtp are the same till 98. It wasn't till 99 that it changed. After work I'm gonna go home and see if I can dig up my old gt maf and see if its the same, if it is I'll connect that

So if what I have seen on advanced auto is correct I should be able to use my gt maf as a test, as its free as long as its still in my shed. *********************************** Just re-looked at the billet TB and that is not the maf I have. For a second it looked like it but its not.

At this point it has nothing to do with the MAF sensor. It has to be a wire issue. With a new fuse and the maf unplugged, as soon as I put the car to the on position, it blows the fuse. I threw a 30 amp fuse on it and it works fine. What are the side affects to running a 30 amp fuse temporally till I trace down what is causing this fuse to blow.
What all runs on this fuse? Are the o2 also using this fuse?

side effect is you're going to burn out a wire instead of a fuse.

There is a reason they didn't put a 30 amp fuse there.

I know it might've not been the smart thing to do but I really didn't have time to troubleshoot it. That fuse did blow out and I found out the issue was with the extending of the o2 sensor. I thought the shop corrected my half arse job of doing it but they failed to do so.
All is well now.
