Hey, it's almost time for me to get new tires, and I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about Falken tires. I know they go on a lot of imports, BUT, reading online, it's not exclusively to imports, and they DO get good ratings. These have good tread life, traction & temp ratings, a great warranty, and a decent speed rating. wink

Opinions?

I've been running Falken Ziex 512's since I bought my rims. Decent little tire... I think I've been averaging around 30k miles on a complete set if I rotate them like I should.

That reminds me... I really oughta get a new pair for the ones I've worn out. eek

Hmm...so I hear more good things. Cool.

Slick, that's how long the warranty is for those tires at Discount Tire, interestingly enough...and the ones I want have a higher tread rating, and twice the warranty. thumbsup For only about $5 more

*EDIT* Hey, Slick, how well do they hook of of a stop or a slow roll? And how is the wet weather traction?

4drgt- What don't you like about your Ragatta 2's? I have them on my car and haven't had any problems with them so far. They don't perform that well in the snow/ice but have been fine in the rain and everything else.

Hey, I just wanted to let y'all know I got 4 Falken Ziex ZE-912, and I love them. They run smoother than my old tires did (although that could be due to two of them being almost bald), and they don't make a bunch of noise. They take turns REALLY well too.

At $585 for 4, I think they are worth it. Although I got them for $40 off, so I paid $545. laugh

Just fyi. smile

If anyone wants any pics of them on the car, lemme know.

my friend had Falken Ziex tires on his Grand Am and they sucked massively, i have never seen a tire wear so fast under normal driving conditions in my life, i personally prefer Hankook K106'S and Kuhmo Escta ASX tires, they last forever, my friend and his bro have K106'S on both their cars and thye are going on 4 years under normal driving conditions, and i knew a few people with Ecsta ASX tires and they are nearing the 3yr mark under normal driving conditions

These tires have a 65000 mile warranty, so if they don't last very long, I get credit towards new ones.

And just to let people know, I got in my first street race since I got my tires, and they did me well.

Unfortunately, it wasn't against a ricer...it was against a V8 Chevy pickup and a Ford Explorer.

Man, those two just kept losing, and wouldn't give up... banghead

I think it was the V8 model, because it seemed to be a little faster than my mom's and she has the V6.

Race 1: The truck pulls up next to me and revs his engine. I wait until he guns it, then I do the same, and spank him.

Race 2: He tries to speed past me, but I see it coming. By the time he is even with me, we are matching in speed. He shifts, and promptly loses again.

Race 3: The Explorer tried the same tactic and it didn't work.

From there, they really just kept trying to get the drop on me and speed past me. They didn't get in front of me until I had to turn left to go to where I was going. As the truck crossed the intersection, he revved his engine again. Guy STILL wanted to go... *shakes head*
