I traded the Cruiser for an 08 Sebring vert...it was a rental with 14k on the clock and I got it for $17k...optioned up nicely for Touring model with heated leather tu-tone power seats, tilt/telescope wheel, black cloth top, 18in cast aluminum wheels and a kick-butt audio/6-disc/DVD/sat radio sound system with controls on the steering wheel.
The 2.7 V6 is no powerhouse but is far better than the 4cyl. It actually has a ram air scoop behind the grille and what looks like a resonance tube off the upper intake manifold running over to the intake air tube. I dont know if that is whats responsible for the nice throttle growl it makes but I think a K&N drop-in filter will be the only underhood mod. According to the onboard computer the car is already averaging 24.5mpg...a full 5mpg higher reading than the PT would show on its in-dash display.
A Magnaflow muffler and twin outlet tips are on the way. Here are couple quick driveway shots.

Not bad ride. I'm not surprised about new exhaust on way like you got new exhaust for PT Cruiser. lol What wrong with stock exhaust? It seems you hate all cars stock exhaust or something. wink

Enjoy your new ride! laugh

That is a nice ride Tbat. Got to ride in one of those (blue) in Florida as a rental car. Was a fun time and really drove great. I'm sure you are going to enjoy the vehicle, I know I sure would.

Congrats!

I really wouldnt waste money on getting an exhaust; you'll never get the sound you're wanting out of it. I say leave it stock and just enjoy the ride.

Hopefully this means that your not going to chop the top of the GP. Good looking ride there T-Bat. What was the trade in value of the PT.

A rental... ouch. That thing has probably had a rough life.

I hope it is more of what your looking for, as opposed to the PT.

hopefully not too rough with only 14k miles, and usually only the upscale rental companies get cars this optioned up.

Its not that I hate stock exhaust systems...I just hate a quiet car. I like to hear it running. I like that bark when you first crank it over and I love the low, steady rumble at highway speed. The stock exhaust system on a Hemi Charger sounds very good, but I dont own one of those and the Sebring make about as much exhaust noise as a church mouse so that will have to change.

The dealer gave me $11500 trade in allowance for the PT which probably means he really gave me more like $9500. I did have to pay a fair chunk down but my payment only went up about $40 per month for the same term so I can live with that.

No wonder. Some people like quiet car.

My summer car is really from rental place. It has 26K miles when I brought her. No problem with them. Mostly, it was scratch front bumper but already paint it. Rest is perfect. It is just depend how good rental people is. Maybe Tbat and I got a good car than other rental cars. Always take a test drive and took a long look to make sure nothing wrong around this car. I'm sure he did that too. wink

My brother and I rented that same model and color when we went to South Carolina and we got 32mpg in that car and it was a very smooth ride and the seats are very comfortable. It should be a nice ride.
