I'm considering a new laptop. Any of you gamers here know of any good laptops beyond dell/alien ware?

I've ran across Origin Custom Pc's, and Falcon Northwest but am unsure as to these companies reputations. If you know of any custom laptops that are known to be very good please post:D

Thanks.

I'm looking to spend roughly 2k.

Only problem with alienware is its dell and the problem with dell is they suck. And that 2k should be going elsewhere :p

I've had much better luck with Dell than Gateway over the years. No experience with Alienware though. I just have a standard/student type laptop.

Exactly why im looking at Origin and a few other custom laptops. I'm sure there are more I haven't heard of and that's what I want to find out.

To be more specific I want i7 quad, higher end video card (not sure of the exact types but I know GTX is good), 4gb + ddr3 ram, 1080p res, 15.4" or 17" max, and maybe just maybe solid state drive?

Well the best adivse I can probably give you when it comes to laptops is make exactly sure that you are 100% on wanting a gaming laptop. Don't get me wrong I love mine and it was great for going to lan parties when I played AoC and Aion. But now I almost wish I would have put the money into a desktop seeing as I could have something way better than I do now.

I have a quad core desktop with GTX 275 video card along with many other goodies and am not really wanting anything faster then I have.

You could always build your own desktop with one of those LAN party cases that newegg sells. Then you get the benefits of desktop components (easy to work on) with portability for LAN parties...

Just one thing to consider...though I guess you'd need to lug a monitor around...

Well I dont know what laptops to look at around $2000 but I will say for $1000 mines a great laptop and can handle just about anything I've thrown at it (except for my sister spilling water on it).
