$1,000. for speeding?

Wow, that's alot! Here in Puerto Rico the Senate is considering increasing the speeding fine to $1,000 if your caught doing 90mph or more! Right now it's at $500 if your caught doing 100 mph.

Good. Maybe people will slow down. There is absolutely no need to be traveling at triple digits on any freeway let alone in PR.

Over here the legal limit on highways is mostly 65mph.

here too on freeways 65 and open highways is 75. 20+ over will land you in jail and tons of hefty fines. I'm all for saying up it to $1000

My over 15 mph highest fine was $150. It was long time ago for my last speeding ticket. I'm pretty agree with $1000. It should be help to make them slow down after $1000 ticket. 2 tickets then you get $2000. Dang, that's gotta be hurt in your wallet.
