I was at an auto body paint shop today, a friend of mine manages it, and there was a black Hummer in the parking lot. On the air intake scoops it said "Ram Air Supercharged". I asked my buddy if it was really blown. There was one customer in the front office and my buddy looked over to him and asked him. He said yes. We were talking about it for a little bit and he said it was stock. He also said the Hummer had every available option on it. Maybe a blower is an option.
He said the blower didn't kick in until about 80mph. He said he doesn't get to 80 in normal city driving. I was going to ask if it was IC'd, or suggest a smaller pulley, or adjust on the... valve... thingy... (OMG, I just went blank), but I was getting the idea he really didn't know too much about it.

Hummers can do 80?

05 H2s aren't offered with a force inducted motor only the Vortec 6000 6.0L V8 engine with 325 hp @ 5200 rpm and 365 lb.-ft. of torque @ 3600 rpm

The H1 Alpha
Alpha model with Duramax 6.6L with 300 HP and 520 lb.-ft. torque

and the only engine in the H3
The 3.5L DOHC five-cylinder engine generates 220 hp at 5600 rpm and 225 lb.-ft. of torque at 2800 rpm.

Straight from GMs website. Not sure if the Duramax is a turbo model or not. They don't advertise it as such.

So which hummer was it? Cause the Duramax is only offered in the H1 Alpha which by the way this is the last year for the H1 in civilian form.

found info on 6.6 Duramax. No mention of Hummer application but Hummer is saying 300 and GM says this turboD is 310 could be the same motor. But Hummer isn't offering it in H2/H3 form.

PONTIAC , MICH. – Later this year, GM Powertrain will introduce a new 6.6L Duramax 6600 turbodiesel V-8 (RPO LBZ) for the 2006 model year Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD with class-leading horsepower – 360 (268 kw) at 3200 rpm and class-leading torque, at 650 lb.-ft. (881 Nm) at 1600 rpm. In addition to the power increase in the Silverado and Sierra, all 2006 Duramax engines have been significantly revised to deliver lower emissions and significantly improved quietness and smoothness in every application.

The 2006 Silverado HD and Sierra HD with the Allison 6-speed automatic transmission will be equipped with a significantly revised 310 horsepower Duramax 6600 (LLY) through the third quarter of 2005. It will be replaced in these applications in the fourth quarter of 2005, by the higher output, 360-horsepower Duramax (LBZ).

whats the use in supercharging a H2 to begin with?...unless maybe you have nuclear missle you need to tow... I dont mean to sound like a bitter old grump but I have failed to see what is "cool" or fashionable about these shoeboxes from day one.

I never cared for the H2 (overpriced Tahoe/Suburban mix)the I would take an H1 the ultimate offroad vehicle that you don't have to mod to go where ever you want. Granted a Jeep and about 20k will get you where that H1 will at 110k less.

Fifty Cent has a blown hummer that I've seen on some of those cars shows with West Coast Customs.

For us, it's a question of why. For him, it's why not?

The guy was telling me how much of a piece of crap his Hummer was, he said it's your basic oiece of crap Tahoe. It looks exactly like a Tahoe on the inside and same cheap material. He also said he was getting 8mpg in the city, and about 10-12 on the highway.
A local Hummer club invited him to an event. He went and did a lot of discussing about how this is falling off, and that is broke, and this didn't last long before it broke. He said he hasn't been invited back to any events.

Its aftermarket.
I've seen a few web sites with this a long time ago while doing general research on superchargers. It was probably a Vortech.

There are a few others also that specialize in this.

the governed top speed for an H2 is 99 MPH.
0-60 in 9.6 sec.
0-90 in 25.4 sec

when they put the hummer into the civilian lineup, I was really disappointed. it isn't really a "Hummer" I mean it won't do the same as an original, so why get it? If I ever buy a hummer, I am going to get a de-mil one and fix it up to my liking. I have a buddy who has a 2000 2500HD with the duramax and it's turbo'd, I thought that they started out as turbo, but I don't know for sure. I don't know what the first year for the duramax was, either. I only know that my buddy's 00 is turbo'd, and my dad's 04 is also.
