I bought some projectors and when they arrived, I was surprisingly disappointed when I realized they had a broken mounting tab, even though I asked if anything was wrong with them. I’ve seen that this is a pretty common thing with the Spyder projectors. Anybody have a fix for it?

I’ve got an email out to the seller but was just wondering if there was an easy solution for it.

Return them and get a new set. you can jb-weld it, but its not going to be as strong as originally. When you get a new set, watch the mounting screws carefully while you're installing, on mine I needed to add some washers to the inside screws because without them, the screw would have pressed against the plastic on the headlight and broken the tab.

side note: the HID bulbs you have in your headlights now are 9007 as you know but for the projectors they will be H1's....I ended up not using mine PM me if you need them (my 9007 ballasts didnt work with my H1 bulbs for some reason)

apparently breaking tabs!!! lol Also you might want to take a look at the eliminate the bounce mods.

No response from the seller yet....If I can make them work, I might just try and get a portion of my money back for the time and supplies to get these to actually work.

Don't forget to have patience in aiming these once you get them installed. Its frustraing but once you figure it out you will be satisfied.

bounce mod does a pretty good job at tightening up the bracket, weatherstripping or rubber hose should take the rest of it away. you're still going to get bounce as the car itself bounces, but the headlights should no longer shake and cause seizures. wink

Well the seller gave me a partial refund for the projectors, so that puts me at having $50 into them. I told him it would take me a lot of work to get them fixed even though I think its going to be a simple fix. Did the bounce mod tonight and hopefully getting them wired in and all haloed up tomorrow....

Any body have a cool place for a switch? I want to be able to switch just the halos on so Im gonna run a seperate switch. I was thinking one of those rocker type switches in that cubby hole next to the headlight switch. What do you think?

I drilled a small hole for a switch I had right on the kick panel just below the headlight controls switch. You could never see it from the unless you were looking under the dash and it was still within arms reach.

I too had it wired for all the halos so I could have them all off or on whenever I wanted and without having to have other lights on like the parking lights.

I will take a picture at home for you.

I never bothered to plug my left halo back in after the last time I was at the track. Can't see them 95% of the time.
