had very unusual experience pulling out of the driveway tonite. I pressed the button for my driving lights and a second later. the fan blower motor stops, and then the headlights went out. The instrument panel lights were still on but no headlights or driving lights.

I turned the blower switch to off, and then back on, and all the light returned. I put the car in reverse and started backing up again, and the engine slowed way down as the blower motor and lights went off again.

I turned the car off and restarted, which it fired right up with no hesitation, so I wouldnt say this was battery related, but I moved all of six feet before the lights and blower went off again.

Needless to say I parked the car and drove the Sebring to work. I'd like to get the car straight this weekend, but electrical issues like this drive me insane. Mostly because I am not good at diagnosing the problem.

Could this be an ignition switch issue?...or could this call for one of those cables from ZZ that runs from the alt to the fuse block?

I am wide open for suggestions, because no headlights is kind of a problem.

btw, I have the halo projector headlights (no HID) and aftermarket driving light replacements.

Two un related systems having an effect sounds like ignition switch.

Happy to report that the fix went fairly smooth, thanks in huge part to the thread with pics provided by BlackArrow. The tiny torx screws on the switch itself were a pita but aside from that all went pretty much according to plan.

The electrical bugs are gone and better yet the cruise is back to working flawlessly.

good times laugh
