Yes he did get a tremendous bargain...especially since he paid me based on the estimate I got from UPS online. Once I got to the package store this morning i was greeted with the ugly truth that the wheels were heavier than I had ever thought. Two wheels in a box including packaging went over the 88lbs "content weight" and broke the 100lbs limit where cost begins to skyrocket. So instead of it costing about $120-130, it quickly shot to $300 since breaking the 100lbs limit isnt allowed, I had to box each one seperately. While I still made a small amount, I couldnt go back on my word since I had already accepted the offered payment. Besides, shipping cost that high would have killed the deal for anybody and I can say that will clear assurity since I would never pay that much to ship a set...but I did today and it will be the last time. I could have easily sold them to someone local for $250.

The only option I had otherwise was to send them truck freight or what they called "raw"...but that involved strapping them to a pallet with no protective packaging...sorry, I wouldnt do that to anybody.

That's truly upsetting that it was overweight and that you barely snagged some form of profit

I probably should have just listed them on eBay or Craigslist and noted for local pickup only.

One thing of note for everyone out there...the guy at the package store told me never to trust the online shipping quotes from the UPS website. He said they have so many "other" charges (i.e. rural, fuel,etc) that you should add 20% to whatever figure you come up with. Great to find out these things after the fact. My bad I guess for not going down there in person.

next time you want to give something away like that let me know because i would have driven down to pick them up for that cheep of cost lol main reason why i didnt get is because of the shipping price

I'm quite sure if I had quoted anyone a $300 shipping price they would have blown off the sale. I wouldnt pay that, why would anyone else?

I certainly didnt intend to let the wheels go that cheap but I had already accepted the payment so there was really no going back. I have no doubt I could have moved them locally for $250 but why would I have done that on purpose? This will most certainly be the last set of wheels I sell online.
