Only scanning will tell you when its time to drop pulley sizes. 3.6" is a size most people seem to skip, I would imagine rockers and any exhaust work would let you do it, but still scanning is what will tell you if you can safely do it.

Well just got off the phoen with zoomer and he said that to run a 3.8 pully on the SS kit you need the mods in my sig plus a set of rockers to be safe. he siad you can run the 3.8 without rockers but he cannot say that I won;t get a shit load of KR b/c i may get some. I also asked him about a 3.6 pulley and he said that most of the cars that have the 3.6 pulley on have installed a SS IC or a cam b/c they were get very large amounts of KR with out ether.

So I figured I'm going to put the 1.9 moded rockers on. And the 3.8 pulley and tune the car out with that set up. Then later on downt he road I will see if I install the 3.6 if I can get the Kr to stay down. I'm hoping with the 3.8 pulley and the modded rockers I will getr close to 300WHP they once it gets alittle cooler out its track time.

ON a side note I need yoru guys and girls adive with the 1.9 moded rockers do I have to do springs and retaners. I asked zoomer but he have me a "aaaaaa as far as I know no" So can anyone help?

I thought for anything higher than 1.84 you had to change the springs? This is because I have heard you will get valve float if you don't change them.

I know the springs should be changed. Depends on how aggressive, but you can go with the 90#, but if your planning on more down the road, mise well do the 105# I think. I kinda lost track of the knowlege I learned a few months ago on rockers.

105# springs are a much better spring overall.

So i have a ? should I get the 1.9 rockers and the 105# springs or should I just get the 1.8 modded rockers. I was thinking the 1.9 with the springs b/c the performance gaiun will be more and it will cost just and mcuh as the 1.8 modded rockers.

I would say 1.9s. I thought about others but if you are going in to doing the work, mise well go with the best setup you can if its around the same $dollar$. And in the end hopefully that extra step up will be better than "damn I should of got 1.9s!"

Here is my take on rockers I would go for RR's and I think you will actually be fine with 1.9's with shift points at 6k ,if you decide you want to change springs go for the 1.95 RR's ,many have used the modified stockers with stock springs with no valve float but I think you do have a certain amount of deflection with the MS's ,there seem to be a lot of confusion over rockers and every case is different, personnaly I have installed two sets of 1.9's on stock springs with 6k shift points with 0 valve float .Chico(pops)

Well I decided to not do the rockers. I was talking to my dad about the mods I can do to my car and he said not to do the rockers just yet b/c if next summer I'm going to do and intercooler its going to be alot easyer to do the rockers when the top of the engine is off again. Also my father was thinking about helping me do a Cam. Since the tranny will have to be fixed sometime in the near future ( I hope it doesn;t tho) he was saying we should wait and when it has to be done to tkae the einge out and do cam and qa few litle things. So thanks for your guys help on the rockers. I will keep you updated ont he mod processes.

If you plan on doing a cam in the future save yourself and don't put in the 1.9 rockers. I know there are ER rockers available that will work with a more aggresive cam but the 1.9s will cause serious internal issues when used with an aggresive aftermarket cam.

Yea I know when it comes down to it I will see what will work B/c I think the cam I want which is the XP cam it won;t work with any set of ER rockers.

XP cam FTW, sure rockers are much easier but I'm glad I did the cam.
