That wing will work, although not my style.

I used to have a bug that I was building. Never finished it, sold it before I got it completed. I would have loved to have finished it. frown

That was fairly common back in the late 80s.

Yep, it was the mid-late 80's when I was building mine.

I always like the older model bugs but not the newer ones.

My dad had a Herbie the love bug replica that he made painted himself back when that movie first came out. He worked at a drive in theater, so he used his own car as an advertisement for the movie.

He had like 10 different ones when he was a kid and used to work on them, he wants to get another one but just doesn't have the time to work on it.

WTF are those tips doing on the bug???

I bet the owner is going to reverse into something and mess up those tips.

I believe that is called a "Stinger".
I was going to have a dual set up on mine. There was a set up that put the mufflers in the wheel well, between the tire and tail light, up out of sight. The only thing that was visible was the tips, one on each side.

Oh no, that was back in the day.
Older model VW's are a little more expensive to mod versus 20 years ago. I bought a dropped front end for mine for $75. I think now they go for over $300 for the exact same dropped front end.
Back then you could take a VW bug and a stock Z28, put $2000 into both of them and the VW would blow the doors off the Z28.
