i went to pontiac's site to build a gto just for the heck of it and they dont even have the gto on there site ... are they still maken the new gto

someone told me that GM is going to be doing that with many of their new cars... 2-3 yr runs, then redesign or axe it

Yah I think I just saw it was 2006 that GTO is done.

It was supposed to be a two year hiatus but will GM run both the Camaro and GTO? They are slated for the same platform.

Man, if they decide to run the Camaro over the GTO, someone's going to die...lol

The camaro is a done deal. It will take some serious financial issues to kill it now. Way too much money has been put into it to kill it now.

yay... hopefuly they keep the camaro out for a while .. i really want to get one of those ... boy are they sharp .. i like the new camaro over the gto .. but thats just me

we've yet to see what Pontiac version of the Camaro will look like...but Mr Lutz has made it clear there will be no Firebird...the new GTO will be the Camaro sistership...the GTO based on the Holden Manaro from Down Under is out of production.

It'll be the same tranny options as the GTO. 6 speed auto or six speed manual.

I'd glady take a challenger over a camaro. I'd take a camaro over a mustang. I cannot fully express my ill feelings about mustangs.

The GTO has a 4 speed auto, just like we do. That's the one thing I don't like about it.

I beg to differ.

The GTO was only had two options. The Six speed manual or the six speed manual. And the auto had the paddle shift.

Herc, according to the GTO site, it comes with a 4l65e 4 speed auto.
