So I am about to purchase a 99 GT and have a list of projects for it already.

performance Mods:

#1 on the docket Swaybars and Strut Braces

#2 CAI or Ram Air

Aesthetic Mods:

#1 Random painted pieces

#2 Debadging

#3 Maybe Projector Headlights?

So I have been poking around for quite a while and have found a few mods that are quick and dirty but dont really have any benefits tied to them. the 1.9 rocker mod was handled in another thread.

Are there any quick and dirty mods that are worth doing that does not cost a crapload of money

Any cheap mods with noticeable results????

Also Are there any functional ram air systems out there????

I have been finding a lot of Foe hoods and CAI billed as ram air.

any systems that are true sealed ram air?

The ram-air is non-existent with these cars.

Do a cheap HAI and then some exhaust work.

Hot Air Intake. Basically it has no box. Just a cone.

Hot air intake, basically just a cone filter off of the throttle body. I have a WizAired which is a cold air intake with a box around the cone to isolate it from the engine's hot temperatures. Don't buy an intake off of eBay, buy yourself a big cone filter and some PVC tubing from Home Depot and build on yourself if you want to go that route.

One cheap and easy mod is rotating the engine mounts 90*. There might be a write-up floating around here somewhere, otherwise I'll post up how to do it tomorrow when I have more time.

If your struts are worn, I would do those before the sway bars & strut braces.

If I bought another car, this is how I would mod:

180 T-stat
turbo mufflers & resonator delete
DP or U-bend delete
PCM --requires premium fuel
SLP airbox or Wizaired

Debadging , painting the inside (bezel and other features of your choice) and the engine bay are what i did and have only done as of now .. they cost minimal, basically paying for paint, and a few hours work.

If you're going to do sway bars and strut supports, just get the GMPP handling kit and you'll get the tubular trailing arms too.
And if your car has more than thirty miles on it, plan on doing struts too because they're worn out.
