Don't gap the plugs!!! it can peel off the platinum/iridium coating on the electrodes. They should all be pre-gapped, with those cardboard or plastic protectors on the end.

Thanks PGP200GT.
I did the job and finished in about an hour and a half, without removing the dog bones. I thought about doing it but first reach back to see if I could get to them. Also, the setting was pretty close.
Funny though, cause after I finished cleaning the garage and all, I went and showered just as if I were getting ready for a date. Took it out on the highway, and man it feels sweet. This was a nice day. Thank You, and Da man Austin GTP GTP Jack

Hello, Don't gap the plugs!!! it can peel off the platinum/iridium coating on the electrodes. They should all be pre-gapped, with those cardboard or plastic protectors on the end. I've never heard of this....I may be wrong by doing so, but I always gap my plugs around .057-.058". Something as simple as shipping may alter the gap, so I always check, and sometimes adjust accordingly. Later now, Clint

Its the iridium plugs that are pre-gapped. I belive all others need to be gapped.

the plugs come with sleeves on the threaded end to protect the gap during shipping, and they're all gapped by machines, which leaves no room for error. scratching the platinum/iridium will not affect performance, and yes, a mis-gapped plug will, but it will affect the life of the plug.
