Just saw a commercial on Speed channel for the show test drive. On Saturday, at 7:00 pm Eastern, they are featuring the Pontiac G8. Should be interesting to see what it can do, and what they have to see about it. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Sweet, man, thanks! I did a search on the guide, and it comes on Saturday, April 19 at 6pm (central) and again on Saturday, April 26 at 2 pm (central). I've got it set to record both, just in case.

he is going to buy a used A4 he wants a 1.8 or a 2.0 Turbo Quattro, and what sucks is he has to get a an A/T because my mother cant drive a stick, and i keep telling him it would just be easyer for him to get a auto so i dont have to worry about finding them a clutch for the one my mom burns up trying to drive.

OK, I just watched the show, and of course, was drooling the whole time. Definitely the best-looking new car on the market, IMHO. 50 cent's G8 sounding horrible in the upper RPMs, I think.

Audis are maintenance hogs. If he gets one, he'd better have deep pockets for the mechanics, and probably the only person who can work on them and get parts is the dealership. I've seen too many people comment on horror stories. Same goes for BMW.
Blip is the same as a brief jab of the throttle.

The show was horrible, but that car is sexy

I used to blip the throttle in my Integra when I was down shifting (I had a 5 speed), it matches the revs of the engine to that of the transmission in the lower gear to make for a smoother downshift. It saves the clutch and helps to keep from upsetting the balance when diving quickly into a corner. I was going to learn how to heel toe downshift, but I needed a wider gas pedal so I could reach it.

Oh, and you gotta love it that so far, everything I have seen and heard about the G8, people are loving it more than even the BMW 535i.....that is amazing by itself, the only complaints I have heard was sometimes the transmission didn't shift smooth (which I am sure will be fixed soon enough) and noone liked the digital voltage and oil presure gage.

And why not test drive the thing for yourself? I did. Beautiful car. I couldnt get the rear end to get squirrely at all. boy did I ever try. Interior was laid out nicely. The MFD was kinda confusing to look at, but Im sure the thing is easier to work than I assume it to be. The back seat? Oooh, theres plenty of room back there. I pushed the seat all the way back, then sat down in the back. With my 5'2" midget self, I still had like 6" of room from my knee to the back of the driver's seat. The GT I saw was stickered at 32k USD. Took my wife to see one, and she even approved. The only car she has ever overtly appreciated is the Vette. This thing is NICE!!! Quit talkin, start driving. GO. NOW. Log off the computer, and get GOIN!!! you'll thank me later.
