Well, today I bought my first million of Iraqi Dinar. I would like to have about 5 million, but limited funds prevent this. It's really interesting to see the money. This new currency is so advanced looking.

I have been wanting to but some for quite sometime now. I knew people that bought it on Ebay and some of those people were scammed. I was afraid to do that myself, so when I got here i decided to ask around and sure enough, the banks are trading the currency. They charge a fee to change it, but you know, not that much. They also give just BELOW the rate of exchange found on the internet, but it doesn't affect the amount that much and I am GUARANTEED that this is real. So it was worth the little extra to me.

Anyone have thoughts on this issue?

That would sit nice in a collection.

Around 800 USD. Give or take a bit here and there for fees and for exchange rate. I figure it couldn't hurt to speculate.

Here in Kuwait, the locals will tell you that thier money was worth very little at end of Gulf War. Now 1 Kuwaiti Dinar costs me 3.42 USD. :|

It sucks, but that is the way it is. Thier money is now almost worth 4 times ours. :|

With Iraq having such large oil reserves, it could hit. Heck, even if it goes to only .10 cents on the USD dollar, it is still 100,000 USD for every million purchased. I guess time will tell on this.

I wonder what's going to happen with the OLD Iraqi dinar...the stuff with Sadam on it. I've got quite a bit of that. It'll probably just end up as war memoribilia.

I have plenty of that old Dinar with Saddam on it it is nice to have but pretty much worthless. Those guys were selling it to me fresh out of the bank 50 250 dinar bills for 5 american dollars. I kinda miss those Iraqis they were nice people, but I think I will just sit back and enjoy my well earned civillian life.

You are right... the OLD Iraqi Dinar is worthless now. The new currency replaced it.

The only value is to collectors. If you have some in good condition keep it your grandchildren might get a good penny for it.
