ok guys and gals, i was given the opp to get my drag car today, a friend of myn told me that if i want i can have his old bonni so i thought i would ask around to see if it would make a worthy drag car

1 yes i know there will be work involved in this ongoing project

but since its a 93 i need to know how i can put in a modern 98-03 pcm in it, also i will be adding a top swap to the car

so my question is .... are the shortblocks the same from the series 1 and series 2 motors ?

then what would all be needed inorder to do pcm change ??

Full track car? If so.

1.) Ditch the Series 1
2.) Get an L32, use a 97-03 4T65E-HD built with parts from the GXP trans and ZZP

3.) use a "sandrail" or Fiero PCM. Gets rid of everything that isnt necessary.

4.) Have fun wiring!

ohh and zzp charges way way too much for a fiero/sandrail setup, i will tune myself

because we are doing on a budget we would like to keep as much on the car now as possible

Then you fail. The S1 isnt worth hooking up to a boat. Drag cars cost money. Beaters are "fre" and "cheap".

then i fail?? the reason why we are doing this "project" is for us guys to get togeather, work on something and then go have fun beating the crap outta it, its not gonna get no record or anything ... if i was trying to make a "fast" race car i def wouldnt be using a bonni in the first place

I understand the concept. I'm in the same boat. Only its just me and my dad on that. But back on topic. I'm slightly lost. You want a drag car. Yet dont wanna go fast. You just wanna beat it up. Then if thats case go beat the crap out of it now......?
