Ya know, living in the desert southwest, I get to laugh at all yall for panicking over 85*F weather. Now, yall can laugh at me: we now have about 1-4" of snow on the ground, slush has since melted into water, more snow falling right now, and temps about to plummet tonight. The Army Post I am stationed at is currently shut down due to weather, all schools are experianceing [sic] a snow day, and a number of the mountain passes have been closed off and on. So, go ahead, you have my permission, laugh at us if'n yall wanna. Just remember, it's coming your way.

Coming our way? It's already been here and making another trip. Sunday is going to suck.

Yep. Already been there, done that. In Texas.
Where we never freak out over 85 degrees. That's mild to us.

same way here in MI, got an inch or two tonight. My car looks terrible with salt and dirt on it. Too cold to wash though, dipping down to 15* tonight.

We got below 32* this past week. Due to the weather, we were closed Mon, Tue, and Wed of this week at work. We're sissy's. ![chicken chicken](/forum/images/graemlins/default/chicken.gif)

I live in the suburbs east of Cleveland that are directly in the lake-effect snow area. We can get non-stop blizards for no reason out of the blue.... and on the radar screen its just a little blob that sits right over Lake County and a bit around it and doesn't go anywhere. Tuesday, I left a good 45 minutes early to get to classes downtown. In clear weather it takes about 40 minutes to get there. I missed all of my classes and got 12MPG. Today wasn't as bad... we got around 3" of snow in less than an hour before I left, then it cleared up right away and plows did a decent job. Overall on the ground theres around only 7-8" or so. That should double tomorow.

Nope, work inside. A little ice and this wimpy little town shuts down. ...and I'm salary + overtime, so yes I got paid for the 3 days off.

Today I was unloading trailors that were about 20 degrees inside. Pretty nippy, but if you keep moving you'll stay warm.

when i went to college in the Upper Penninsula, it would snow all the time... my freshman year it snowed at least once every month, from august till april... we would get 5-8 feet of snow... the banks on the roads would get to about 10 feet high before they would knock them down with graters... ive seen more than a few days that hit -20... it was also right on lake superior, so the wind was wicked, and very cold... walking to classes was a bitch... but, it was an excellent place for snowmobiling... we'd snowmobile from end of november to beginning of april...

We had just a slight dusting of snow yesterday (it didn't even stick to the roads), and it was gone by around noon. Today is just sunny, windy and cold, which is why we here in CT always say "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes..." So far we've been lucky; no snow (other than yesterday), just plenty of rain. When I hauled out my snowthrower in Nov. to get it ready, it fired right up, which no doubt scared off the snow gods... ![wink wink](/forum/images/graemlins/default/wink.gif) Of course, we still have February, March, and April to get through, but for now, all's clear.
