Wanted to post my opinions.

We went and looked at an 05 350z base model. 6 speed manual, 3.5 v6, cloth interior. That car was amazing. I loved every second of driving it. And for the $17,000 asking price it was an awesome buy. A PERFECT car.

Then we tried something different. an 06 mitsubishi eclipse. Auto, leather, 3.8 v6. The interior was pretty cheap feeling, and ugly IMO. That car was also a lot of fun to drive. Not as good cornering as the z was, but very peppy little car. and they were asking $16,000. I was more than amazed that mitsubishi made something that was such a nice car.

I have (and always will be) an American car guy. I cant stand the fact of buying something foreign, call it stupid or whatever you want, but i will buy domestic. but driving these cars makes it harder in comparison to my dads 05 v6 mustang, which feels like the cheapest piece of crap to ever hit the road. Crappy handling and a very weird 30-40mph "lag" that i think is related to the gearing somehow. Its had more electical problems than i care to elaborate on.

I just couldnt believe how much better the mitsubishi is than the mustang. For about the same price range, the eclipse blows the mustang out of the water.

Good deal.

My college buddy bought a 350Z when we graduated, right at the same time I got my GTP. He obviously paid more for a really nice car, but we swapped cars and both thought we got a good deal on our own for the price.

I was thinking about an eclipse when I was considering my GTP, but they just seemed kind of "girly" to me....I don't know why...but I'm still partial to them. Maybe it's the ricer in me. kooky

My Stratus is an Eclipse (past gen IIIs). I don't know about the 4th gen, but they have some issues with interior quality. The plastic they use is very cheap and leads to the infamous dash cracks. I've got mine. There are also some minor issues with valve noise at startup (it's just part of the design, not harmful), and occasional 2nd and to a lesser degree, 3rd gear grind when the tranny is cold. Overall, they're very reliable but hard to mod and keep it that way.

the Eclipse is built in Illinois so its one of those "foreign" cars that blur the lines somewhat...I looked at some 06 and 07 Eclipse Spyders before I bought my Sebring and came close to getting one but they have a tiny back seat and not much more trunk space...but overall a very nice car and looker to boot. The 263hp GT version is a mover.

Never have driven a Z-car...co-worker of mine has one and he put an aftermarket exhaust on the car...raunchiest sounding thing I've ever heard...and thats sad cuz its good looking car.

....X2, if I were to go import it would either be an RSX or an EVO.

My import of choice would be the WRX. Subaru's quality and reliability are above that of Mitstus.

If I got an import it would be an RX-7 3rd gen. Not reliable or practical, but were talking favorites.

The people with cocky attitudes that own Supras just turn me off of them. They're worse than 'Stang owners in my eyes (especially the Five-O guys).

If we are talking imports, I'd say my list is:

1. Mitsubishi 3000 VR4 (twin turbo)
2. WRX

EDIT:
Get rid of the fart can mufflers and this would be a sweet ride:

QFT.

There was a Supra that worked at a place on the same street as me, and he would always tear up and down that street with no regard for damn near anything. It was a quiet little neighborhood street, I was waiting for him to hit a pedestrian.

Meanwhile, there's a Bullitt Mustang on the same street that is the most courteous guy you could wish to meet on the road.

Hate to be stereotypical, but come ON.

I'd like to take a test drive in the new G37 coupe! I've always had an eye on the lines of the Infinite line of cars. But I did hear a sweet sounding CTS today, I would love one of those with the Supercharger!
