ok so I am about to take ownership of the car I have lusted over for about 4 years now....

long story short dude wants to keep his plate and I would like a vanity plate.

I am a systems/network admin with a very strong background in unix/linux systems. I am a dedicated open source supporter and I am completely disgusted by Microsoft's business practices. I am a firm Linux supporter. (please dont start that argument in this thread. go make another if you would like to discuss)

any who being the g33k that I am I would like a custom plate that reflects this.

keep in mind I am representing a business when in this vehicle so it cannot be vulgar or offensive.

TN laws say 3-7 characters one space allowed if under 7 characters, no punctuation

What is your purpose?
If you want others to know what it means, then all those suck, because if you didn't mention anythign about it, I had know idea how to read any of them.
If you just want a plate to say something, then choose whatever.

I always thought that the point of getting a vanity plate was for people to understand it and get a kick out of it.

If i saw those... i would think.... "I hope he didn't pay for that"

nope the purpose for this vanity plate is pretty much self centered

sort of like the t-shirt that says



the fact that other people who are also linux/Open Source supporters will get it. sort of like a huge inside joke.

a good example of this would be a GTP with a plate that says Blow Me. every one would think you are a prick excluding people who know that car is supercharged (aka blower)....
