Wow...someone who explained it in a scientific way, and yet completely understandable! Sweet. Thanks man.
Now, that post brings me to another question though: What's with the 5250?

No problem.
5250 is basically just a conversion factor to get the units to match up. It has to be that way. Side note; If you multiplied the HP by 746, you get a power output in terms of watts. Then if you had an electrical generator that was 100% effecient, you would be able to produce that much electrical power in watts. (rough example: my dad has a gas generator with an engine marked "20HP" - that converts to nearly 15,000W, then when you account for the generator not being perfectly effecient and the motor not running at max duty, you're about at the 10,000W electrical rating of the generator) Without the proper 5250 conversion factor, that relationship would never hold. Watt holds an electrical meaning and mechanical meeting.

I was thinking this thread needed some detail, but I see zuul beat me to it.
I don't remember if he said it or not, but with torque you always see the peak torque as "@XXXX RPM" it's a single point in time. HP is across the band as zuul said.

As the great Carroll Shelby once said, "Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races."

However, it looks like the RPMs for the HP are higher than the RPMs for the torque.
