Ok, I thought I would bring this to everyone's attention. I've mentioned it sparsely in threads when I notice it, but here goes: Don't use WD40 for finding vacuum leaks.
It's a common thing to try and use a combustible aerosol to search for vacuum leaks: it's sucked in, revs increase. Many people recommend WD40, but this no longer works. About 10 years ago, WD40 switched from a butane-based aerosol to a Co2-based formula. The butane is what used to make revs increase. However, since it is no longer used, recommending WD40 to other people or using it yourself could lead to misdiagnoses of the issue.
If you have the old stuff, it will still work. There's an easy way to tell them apart: blue nozzle = Co2. White = butane. From now on, just stick to recommending/using brake cleaner, starting fluid, carb cleaner, some other quickly evaporating aerosol.
