sucks to be them, and my heart goes out to the cars and their wallets, but thats part of the game. I used to street race (in a BONE stock 96 Beretta), and fully realized ALL consequences of my actions. I wouldnt be too upset if I got caught up in something like that. I did it to myself, ya know?

350hp Integra... Another ricer dream, seeing as he swears it could be a Corvette or Ferrari.

All I know is, I'd be mad if they crushed my GP for a missing id tag and 'suspected' parts were stolen.

dont get into that crowd, dont hafta worry about it. The story said several times that these kids were all identified as being involved in racing several times before getting their cars confiscated and destroyed.

oh yeah. I would have figured the US Army and Marine Corps woulda opened up their helicopter strips to racing on the weekend. Turned out that the Army's safety center threw a conniption a FEW years back about racing on inactive/abandoned airstrips. Bet the Marines were the same way.

Without being able to use those flat, level, often maintained strips, Soldiers had to go out onto the highways, since they couldnt afford track entrance or the safety modifications, to the proper specifications, for their vehicles. Pretty much same story as the civilian world.

Thats sad but in some way I agree with them about taking their cars away but crushing them is wrong. I would just rather see a cop giving a ricer a 2-10,000 dollar ticket.lol

Thats a big thing in Alexandria, Fairfax, and Arlington in Virginia. Where I live cops stay posted up everywhere I go and have that radar gun out. But motorcycles around here tend to run from the cops since most cop cars can't catch them.lol T

i honestly dont know what i would do if that happened to my car...
crushing a car is way way to extreme...fine and jail time fine i can live with it but crushing your car...!#!&@&!%*#^W# that
i will come out and say yes of course i/we? all(have) street raced. most of teh people that have halfway decently fast cars have some driveing experence know whats going and and arent gonna race in dangerous situations.
around where i live i go down to telegraph and watch the street racing...its all done safely and the cops still mess with us theres a flat long stretch of road...perfect for racing...no/very few houses...and no cross trafic or anything and teh cops stil try and bust us..its crazy
but i will admitt if there were more strips out there i would go there no doubt.

you still see kids street racing around here and we have two local dragstrips that have street/grudge match nights...I have heard more than one judge in this area say "come before me for street racing and you WILL go to jail."...now if all that hasnt gotten them off the loud pedal I guess this will.

slightly off topic...I heard today that Virginia is passing a law making the minimum fine for 15mph over the speed limit $1000...I guess the Va troopers are getting fed up with the "blood alley" label of I95.

Yea I95 is ridiculous when it comes to that, I guess thats why I always see those monitors on the should on I-95 that says "high accident area"

The adrenaline rush is way different! I've raced a few on the street (I hardly ever get a race though) and I don't come near track speeds and its more of like a little punch of the gas, except for that night I toyed with the MACH 1, that was silly.

I don't street race anymore. I used to toy around with people, but a few of my friends have gotten busted in the last few months for street racing and it's just not worth it to me... well that, and my transmission is slipping, I took off the S/C belt and I'm going as easy on it as possible
