For those that like other fun toys, thought I'd show a pic of my AR15, which I showed a loooong time ago in a different configuration. It started life as a Delton M4 kit and DPMS lower. It has since received an earthy/black paint scheme and some nice goodies. All I like is a good optic like an Eotech or an Aimpoint. Sexy. Gas piston or OE gas system? How much would it cost to make one in that configuration. I prefer the ACOG myself, but the M68 is a good go-to, but the EOTech is SO sexy! BUIS is a definite with the EOTech and M68, that's for sure. Too bad you can't use the BUIS with the ACOG. Oh well. BTW: what's that chambered in? 5.56MMx45MM NATO? Sweet sweet lookin rifle, though, man.

Yeah mine is DI, a piston system is a bit much for me ATM unless I designed one myself (lol it's easy). I have around $1100 invested, so it's not too bad but it's not cheap either. Yes, it's 5.56 NATO. I have considered playing with a 6.5 Grendel upper, but that's some time off.
IMO Trijicon sights are overpriced. I can get a good Eotech or Aimpoint for under $500. An ACOG is what now? $1200? I'll pass.

I don't mind the direct impingement at all, it's just a beast to keep clean. I fired a 6.5mm that a buddy built...MAN! what a WONDERFUL shoot that weapon was! I have no idea how much my ACOG cost. It was simply given to me. Granted, I couldn't think about putting it on any other weapon AND I had to give it back after that one-year trial period, but it was GREAT to take a look at what all was going on outside the wire!

On behalf of the piston driven side of the word trust me they get just as dirty except now its away from action but the block gets really gummed up. Plus I can't even touch anywhere near the gas block or front sights after shooting a few mags. It gets damn hot and I have the burn marks to prove it.
Ruger SR 556 btw
That's a beauty there rook nice work! Makes me miss my stag ar.

Nice gun. My toy is a Ruger 10/22, nothing like what you've got but mine is a lot cheaper to fire My next purchase for it will be a .920 barrel. Here's a vid of my buddy and me shooting 1/2Lb binary targets that we placed inside some old desktop computers. Shot at with an SKS... http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm133/AustinGTP/?action=view¤t=807d6de9.mp4

Good stuff. I've got a 10/22 that's still in carbine form, but I've polished the receiver and added a VQ hammer. It'll be a project one day. taz, my M4 kinda looked like that at one point, but took it a whole different route. I've got some more toys lying around, if I stop being lazy maybe I'll show em off.
