So today seemed to be VE-Day for my car. She went in for her exaust work around 10 30 am, got a custom bent 3" DP, Magnaflow highflow cat and the U-Bend delete done.
Then at work around 12 30 my phone rings and it Purolator with my CAI. So after work I pull her in and slap that in (20 mins my butt for a first timer! :p ), changed my fuel filter, doing my PCV tomorrow and hear back on Friday about a custom PCM tune.
Overall, a good day I would say for me GP! I didnt notice a heck of alot of difference with just the exaust done driving it from the shop to my work, except it sounded meaner, but now the CAI is in I can really feel and hear it in the low end.
Guess now its probably PCM time, and maybe a 3.5 pulley, havent decided yet on that one.

well, if you left the stock mufflers in, then there wont be too much of a difference in sound. But im sure that you felt more responsiveness from the car

Twisting the dogbone mounts 90* will REALLY make your car feel like everything is lined up better.
All the shifts feel tighter and shorter.
I still suprise myself in thinking that the little jolt from a shift is longer that it is now.

Yah Ordonez, I left the mufflers in, I didnt expect too much doing that. I am actually pretty happy with the sound atm to be honest.
I'll give that a shot Zergling, sounds like a neat mod, thanks!

When I did the downpipe and hi-flow cat I could really hear the difference, inside and out. Stock muffs.

The DP and u-bend with some headers or PEMS will help the performance aspect

One thing I have noticed since the exaust and CAI work, my mileage seems to move around alot more now,is that normal?
I was living at 17.8 mpg, now I float between 17.4 and 19ish.

Well... that depends. Have your driving habits changed as a result of the intake and exhaust?

The Dp with U-bend delete will give you some performance gain but if your looking for a different sound you will have to get rid of those stock(heavy) muffs, choose these carefully .Chico.

Right now we are looking at Flow 40s or maybe modding on a Magnaflow. My exaust guy said he modded a Magna onto one before and it sounded killer, so we are trying to track him down so we can have a listen to see if I like it.

If you go with flowmasters, leave the resonator in place! They sound raspy if you take it out.

What modding are you talking about on the MF's? I'm running MF's and they did'nt require any modification, but I really do like the sound much better then FM's a more mellow sound IMHO.Chico.

Yah Chico, thats what my exaust guy said about the sound almost to the word. We were sure if we were going to have to mod MFs on it since they dont list GPs as something they sell mufflers for (least when I checked). Which MF muffler did you use so I have a place to start looking at which one I am going to go with?
Thanks, Matt

Since you have the stock pipes you would need part# MPE-14225 this is a polished stainless muff with offset 2 1/4" inlet and a 2 1/4" centre outlet the cost is $87.95 ea. available at Summit racing,I hope this helps.Chico.

Thanks alot Chico, I'll contact my exaust guy soon and see what it will cost me.
I couldnt find a sound clip though for that muffler, any idea where I might find one?
