I took my car to a family known gm master mechanic and he says my car needs a new electronic brake and traction control module + screws.
All and all it will cost 1200 for the part and 100 for the labor he says.
Where can I go to get this part for cheaper? I need this done for the winter. Theres no way I'm going to pay that. The most I would pay to have my traction control and abs working would be in the 200-300 range.
Any links to places I can find the part or advice on what I should do are greaatttlyyyy appreciated. I need a search and couldn't find the part anywhere.
Im freaking out over school and finals and so much more... this tops off my thanksgiving holiday...

I would say its a hub abs sensor out (common)....
Might be worth having the dealer scan your car for you and tell you which one is bad...
edit: (edited some spelling misteaks, need to proofread...) I cant spell for crap!

I had this problem (my abs light came on and stayed on for about a month) and they fixed it with the problem that Austin said.

the master tech said that he couldnt even get a reading from it to determine what was wrong it was so messed up. He had to go through everything.
He also said whoever sold me the car must have known about it.
What makes you so sure its the wheel hub or sensor, and isnt actually the ebtcm???

he scanned it to find out which one, and got nothing out of it. It's un-scannable? He said it must be the ebtcm. Does the ebtcm tell you which wheel hub it would be? because that's whats going on.

They do go bad, it's rare but it does happen. I read not to long ago on another site where someone said they had to get one from Morad.

interesting. Try and find a pick-and-pull junkyard nearby, I bet you can grab what you need from a junk vehicle for dirt cheap.

What cars can i pull it from? Does it have to be from a 2002 GTP or can it be 97-03 gts and gtp or what?
Also: does anyone know the part number?
And where can i find pictures of it and where its located?

Well, based on the price, I'm guessing it may be part number 12209624, but I'm not sure (found on rockauto.com) You should see if the mechanic can give you the part number. The part I listed is called the "PWRT controller", no idea what that stands for.

Here you go: Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Replacement Removal Procedure Notice To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position. 1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. 2. For the 3.8L engine only, remove the fuel injector sight shield. 3. Remove the upper diagonal brace from the front fender. 4. Disconnect the accelerator and cruise control cable from the accelerator control cable bracket. 5. Disconnect the cruise control module from the left strut tower. It is not necessary to remove the cable from the module. 6. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. 7. Disengage the locking tab (1) from the EBCM harness connector. 8. Disconnect the EBCM harness connector. 9. Remove any dirt/debris from the assembly. 10. Remove the 6 retainers (2) that connect the EBCM to the BPMV. Important Do not pry apart using a tool. Be careful not to damage the BPMV surface. Important Do NOT damage the solenoid valves when you remove the EBCM from the BPMV. 11. Separate the EBCM (1) from the BPMV (4) by gently pulling apart until separated. 12. Disconnect the pump motor connector (3) at the bottom of the EBCM. For re-install, retainers get torqued to 26 in-lbs.

Is that just for a EBCM? It might be a bit different for a EBTCM. They are 2 different things. The EBTCM has more to it and controls more things.

ABS and TCS are entirely controlled by the EBCM and the BPMV. BPMV is the mechanical part, EBCM is the electrical control. This is definately the procedure for the job your mechanic is recommending.
