Well tried saving you time and money. Your fault you didn't address the board before you began fabbing.

Who have absolutely no idea what you're doing with a setup like this. How many intake manifolds have you welded together? How many turbo kits have you made? I will be sure to address you every step of the way after this to make sure you don't let me make any mistakes.

You're always saying people can't take jokes. I was throwing in some sarcasm about addressing the board. You've heard worse from Fred. I just figured you wanted a fast car yet you'd like to be able to open the hood and be like here is the masterpiece. I really couldn't see you wanting that after you spent time and money building a sweet phenolic setup to rush and put a strange looking intake on there. Please Corey don't hate me.

Sorry to bring up an older post but I saw this at club gp: Ordonez would this work with what you are planning to do (this upper intake)? I know you were trying to experiment with the upper intake.. Maybe this would work, maybe it wouldn't, I have no idea?

Alpine, those upper hats aren't available any more and really do not do anything more than a gutted supercharger housing. You'll still be limited to the flow of the LIM on the l67 which isn't great and the w2a cores we have really hold you back compared to a nice w2a setup or even small a2a front mount.
Tbat, the lag time actually helps a little because it lets you get up to speed before you roast tires. Once the boost hits it spins hard unless you feather the throttle. I will have to get a video up to show what 1/2 throttle and only 15 psi will do to heavy 18" rim's....

Maybe you could find a way to remove the LIM and have something like what that guy did in pic above to replace it? Just another thought.

My intake will be one piece. The upper manifold is welded directly onto the LIM. It has changed a bit in the design from the previous setup, but I like this new design a lot more. It is a once piece setup that allows for no boost leaks anywhere. I might be able to get some pics up as soon as the final welding of the TB flange is done.
Tbat- These Holsets are supposed to spool ridiculously quick for their size, and should get the job done. It is a big turbo, though, so who knows?
A bit of an update also, I am wiring up the turbo timer today along with the nitrous switches. Got the oil feed line tee'd in and the Racetronix/Walbro 255 fuel pump in the tank (Finally). It is seriously just as slow as the supercharged setup. Now I see why people just spend the money and buy kits that make things easy.

So you've got the turbo running? Or what do you mean by as slow as the s/c setup?

I assume he meant just as slow to put together, hence the comment about buying a kit.

that is a sweet looking piece of engineering! I wonder how effective a twin scroll turbo would be? Fabbing up the header pipes in order to pair the cylinder pulses to each side of the turbine inlet would be a royal pain, but the Porsche engines that use it make crazy power with minimal lag time. Hyundai's new direct-injected turbo four uses a twin scroll and is thumping 274hp from 2.0L (along with 269 ft/lb torque @ 4500) I know DI and quad valves contribute to those figures but it is a 75hp boost over the stock 2.4L DI engine. A good flowing custom intake manifold (like Chris posted) along with a properly plumbed twin scroll w/a2a IC would be real trans killer

You would be surprised how nice of a vacuum you get in a FMIC setup, as long as there are no boost leaks :p
