When my car is put into park after driving I cannot sometimes get the key out. If I move it around some I can sometimes get it out by going back and forth several times. One of the times the key came out and it was still turned a bit. I've heard of this issue before here but is there a fix?

Something tells me the issue could be from the shifter itself, but I have no idea.

This thread comes up like 5 times a month haha, theres a release button inside your steering column, key gets stuck, reach up there and push the button, key pops out, no problem.

DONT slam your car into park, thatll only make things worse.

That's the button that Boosten is talking about, it's only a temp fix though. I personally have never had to deal with this but the link that Blackarrow posted is the best way to go.

What about some grease on the key before inseting it, to lube up the internals?
Or is this a mechanical issue that needs to be dealt with otherwise...?
The grease I tried with my home front door. The key goes in and out nicely now!

it's an electrical problem typically.
