I bought some paint, clear coat, and sand paper. So do I need anything else althought the guy at autozone said thats all I need but for the rims I have(5 spoke wheel) do I need primer or am I okay with what I got. Im thinking about painting my rims this weekend since its going to be 60 degrees outside for saturday which I hope will melt all the snow up.

Oh yeah, the brand I bought was dupli color.

Prep work is crucial..do use primer, a sandable primer, it fills in imperfections..use a clear coat.

I suggest VHT rim paint and not some krylon knock off. The VHT is special made for rims and will not chip or peel. I have exceptional results and reliability for the year I ran painted rims.

Remove your wheel weights and as Chunkee said, prep is the key.
A monkey can paint anything, but it's the prep work that makes it look good.

Don't underestimate prep work, like they said. Personally I would look into some cheap powdercoating or something but hey let us know how it turns out.

Actually I would love to do that but I don't know if I have one in the area I live in.
