The cover's there for a reason guys. If it even holds in a couple degrees, I'd be surprised. You would want to keep heat off the hood, which will be better for the paint, not to mention the bonding adhesive between the frame and the skin. You'll never notice the couple degrees that the cover might hold in. The outside temperature changes 10 times greater than what's under the cover.
