I have a 1999 GTP with cold air but that is it I just want to know if I could win agenst a 1997 Mustang gt with a 3.8 he has magnaflow pipes.

You're kidding, right? Those 3.8s in those years of Mustangs put out like 160 HP, compared to your 240. That would be a waste of gas....

I thought the Mustang GTs had a 4.6 liter engine and the reg Mustangs had a 3.8, either way like nad said they had poor HP in thoughs years the 3.8 had about 160HP and the 4.6 V8 was about 215 so that compared to your stock 240HP, i would say go have some fun. Smoked Pony is very tasty..

His 97 v6 has like 145 horsepower. And even ift a manual it has no chance. I had a 95 v6 mustang before, auto and i thought it was fast compared to my 83 4 banger before but not much. You will smoke that car even bone stock. I drove a 00 GTP yesterday and it would keep up pretty close to my 98 GT and its modded even. Rance him for titles!!

just remember that racing cars has A LOT to do with the driver of the particular car. I've seen a Z28 Camaro get spanked by a ford V6 mustang, just cause the Z28 driver couldn't drive worth s**t!!

But he has an auto GTP so i dont know how he can mess up too awfull much:)

You'll win. I went to the track last month and raced my co-worker. He has a 96 V6 5 speed mustang. Thought he could do some damage but I beat him buy 2 sec. I ran a 16.01 and he ran an 18.......
Don't freak out about the times, I'm 5000 feet above sea leval.......
