so i'm looking to eventually put an amp and subs in the car, nothing too big or trunk rattling, just something nice for when im listening to techno :p how can you wire those in to the stock deck? my friend has a buick with stock deck with sub and amp wired in so i know its possible somehow. and my other question, im going to be making a custom iPod dock in place of the tray right infront of the shifter and want to know if there is a line in on the stock deck? I don't want to use FM transmission cause the quality turns to shit and staticky so I want to use a line out from the dock and wire it right to the stereo and also wire the power so it charges. Anyway this line in is possible? or am I going to have to get an aftermarket deck? i really don't want to cause I think it makes it look funny and I like the deck thats in it.

There are a few products out there that let you wire the stock speaker wires into a unit that lets you output slightly higher quality sound through RCAs. I can't remember any but the JL Audio Cleansweep and I think its rather pricey. I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there though.

My car came with some kind of 400w rear speakers so I am looking for a 3ch amp to add some power to the rear speakers and a small Sub I already have.

R.S. - Let me know what you end up using, especially if its the Cleansweep. I've often wondered how easy they are to set up and how well they perform.

It will be the cleansweep, can get one for about 180 on ebay. Their site says it can take about an hour if done professionally so for me it will be a weekend affair haha, but I imagine if DYI its prob about 2 hours with feeding wires and setting everything up. Its really not all that expensive when you think aftermarket decks around here are about 200 for a good one and the cleansweep does everything it does while keeping stock look. will keep you posted. i'll also take pics of my dock fab with my phone (doing it at work and they don't let cameras in, i couldn't even bring a power cord in, they made me leave it at security lol...)
