how do u tune for a top swap on a 97? You cant run a 97 gtp file, tranny doesnt want to get out of second. You cant run a gt file cant control the supercharger settings. Is there a way to splice the two types of files together?

we changed the gear ratio settings but its not engaging the 3rd gear solenoid. i know the pcm doesnt "control" the SC. sorry if i mistyped that but there are settings in a gtp file that you can modify which the gt doesnt have...

Who is doing your tuning for you?
Flash a GTP file to your GT PCM and add the GT tranny settings to it.

Make sure you got all of the settings flashed on there. Double check all of your wiring, something might be pinched. Check under the battery, there is a tranny wire that gets pinched a lot, just make sure all of the wires are out from underneath the battery

GT's have much more timing than GTP's for a reason. and dont mess with the fueling, just use GTP settings for fueling if youre running L67 injectors

Yah something isn't hooked up right, you have a 97 and missing something, or there isn't something correct in the tune bin file.

I never had a problem with my 97 trans. I started with a ZZP tune (which worked fine trans.wise) then I had a dyno tune done ,remember shifting is partially controlled by the vacuum modulator and make sure the modulator is getting vacuum from the LIM not the TB also I would install a new ajustable VM at this time to make sure it's operating properly ask for a modulator from a 96 ssei ,if you can't get things operational contact ZZP and inquire as to their secret.Chico(pops)

cant use an older file then 96 cause it wasnt OBD2 so thats a no go... if your having probs with the setup... you can Email or pm me a copy of your bin and i'll look over it... my 96 Z has the same 4t60e that you have and i have a good understanding of what the settings should be.

....Theone2043.... can you please break down all the mods you have and the entirety of the swap... like are you runing a 2 bar map? what injectors you are runing, l67 or l36 maf, all the details, even if you have exhaust work ect.... from this and the bin im sure i can get you a file that will get your car runing right... if the kid that is tuning your car has access to internet, you can even have me schedule a time when yoru gonna be doing the tuning... and i can take that time off and we can tuning over the phone and email the file back and forth while you are with the kid. dont stress it will get sorted out and you will have a fun fast efficent ride when done.

custom tune to your specific car is always better than a generic tune

Do you mean the BBV? You run vacuum to the BBV,remove the solenoid and do not cap the vacuum outlet that went to the solenoid leave this open.

no, don't leave it disconnected. if it's disconnected it will either stay open and never build boost or it will stay shut and you'll never be able to release pressure when not on the gas.

The electric solenoid is not needed for the BBV to function, again you run vacuum to the BBV ,remove the solenoid and leave the vacuum port open on the BBV if you cap this you will not see more than 3lbs of boost.

so i can disconnect the vac line going from the fpr to the bypass solenoid and then run the tranny to the fpr which then goes into the lim. so as long as i dont cap the solenoid it will still preform its job just fine and i will be able to see more then a few lbs of boost?

why not just use a tee? then you're not leaving anything disconnected.

I find that the BBV (since your using a GT PCM ) and you have'nt got the solenoid hooked up is to remove it and leave the bootom vacuum port open the top vac goes to the top of the SC .
