Like the title says.

The car turns off but the key wont turn back far enough to pull the key out.

Any ideas?

That would surely be a PITA. If the key is stuck in the ignition, at least in my 97, I wouldn't be allowed to even manually lock the driver's door, unless it was with a spare key from the outside.

And a spare key is something I ALWAYS have in my wallet. I'm way too bad about laying my keys down on the console to grab my phone, jacket, and other junk and then locking the keys in the car. I have to use that spare key about six or seven times a year to unlock the door.
