I do have an aeroforce scan gauge. I keep it on boost and KR.

As for the price, like I posted above I know it's high but it's high dollar labor. The shop I take it to has been in the same spot forever and well trusted and I don't mind paying the extra grip for their reliability. It's kind of like picking full synthetic oil over conventional.

Bobby,

Sorry to hear...... Can't wait to see what you venture into on the road to recovery with the GTP... wink

Might I ask what motor oil you use and what your maintainence schedule for oil changes are?

For the most part I've used Mobil 1 5w30, the past year or 2 I've switched to Union 76 full synthetic 5w30. Changed when oil life reached less than 20% on the DIC.

X2, and lets have a engine swap party! Forget the shops $4900 price tag for a simple swap that can be done in a day.... (I've taken mine in and out a few times and got it down to less then a days work)

x3

Recommend giving him a call directly.

This is the perfect opportunity to get a Gen V motor! I bet real money he will have one with low miles and at the same price or less plus shipping. He's the most respectful vendor I've ever dealt with. It will add a couple days off but it's worth it. Just give it some though.

The extra cost you are paying in labor is well worth it in my opinion. It is very hard for me to find a good mechanic. I'd pay more for less headache also.
