I just traded in my 97 Grand Prix SE for an 02 GT. The 97 SE flew on the highway, it would do about 70 mph at 2000 rpm's, 2500 was good for 86 mph's. All it had was a K&N drop-in filter.
The 02 GT seems much slower on the highway. The same RPMs get me about 6 mph less. It is completely stock (I plan on putting the Wizaired cold air box in soon!)
I just wanted to see if this was comparable to other stock 2002 grand prix's, or my air intake is just bad. Thanks for your help!

Why would the air intake alter rpms? I'd be curious to see what tranny your SE had, but the it's typical to turn about 2000rpms @ 65mph in my SE.

dont buy a CAI, build your own. More fun and I think they work better when you build them. Maybe thats just my pride kicking in though. I have a GT but I've never really paid attention to see what RPM's I'm turning at highway speeds.

LOL, JATO comes to mind, yet that's an old topic, so I digress...

Hmmm, Mike, you're in AZ, why not give it a shot for us? Guys, I tried to digress, you lured me into it...

well you didnt say anything about snow. I thought you meant drive pavement on the highway. We dont have any snow yet where I am in MI, but it was snowing the other day (none of it stuck) and apparently everyone forgot what snow was and how to drive it in. I was on the highway and everyone slowed down to 35! It was like it was manna falling from the sky and they all wantes to watch.
