Took me 6-7 hours, but I was on the computer, painting parts, eating, going to Wally World for bolts (stock bolts wouldn't work on the crossover, had to get 3/8-16-2" bolt). I had to drop the whole exhaust (cat back and muffs, just were on rubber hangers) so I could get to the d/p and cut it off. I have to get my d/p reshaped to hook up to the rear header, since it isn't a TOG d/p. I haven't started it up yet, too late (too loud probably). I decided to paint the engine mount bracket black while I was in there. I seem to find nuts and bolts everytime I install something, just add to the collection, LOL. I couldn't get the 02 to reach, but I have a pigtail (which I just sold, got to figure out what to do with that now) that I used to make it reach so I can start it up. Now I just need my rocker pair to get back from ZZP. I also already had the EGR deleted, but I had my exhaust guy weld the hole shut and I took that EGR off, that thing is like 5lbs easy. Had to get some QuickSteel also because the egr weld hole had a slight hole in it, so I had to plug that, would of leaked exhaust. I am going to wire into the egr harness to run my wideband so I can scan it on the PTuner. Edit: Forgot to mention, did all the header work myself. I started it up this morning. OMG!!! Sounds like a Harley Davidson/Hot rod but on crack! Made the 89' vette I have with no muffs sound like a panzy. I took it in this morning. Trying to avoid the noise, but I had to cross a huge bridge, all the morniing bridge walkers must of been like "WTF", from that nice a car. So hopefully I can see how it sounds. I took a sound clip this morning of open headers, that should be up soon. Pictures

headers on these cars are no fun. you really feel like you accomplish something when its done.
Congrats Steve! Now you have to make it to BMP on dec. 15th!

WOOOhooo! $50 for the d/p reconfiguration. However, the exhaust leak is where the crossover meats the rear header. Wally world only had two bolts instead of four that were fully threaded. So I couldn't get those two that tight. I picked up some more together. Headers make the exhaust sound too raspy! Just messed up my nice exhaust tone. May need a resonator or something now.

wow thats looking very nice. i have a thought though. (don't get mad..its just a thought) your engine bay looks very nice, but i was thinking it would look a lot better if you filled the space very your stock intake used to go instead of a fwi. i jus think it would look better filled out. just my opion. still looks amazing.
good job!!

Congratulations!!! Open headers sound sick, but you lose all the bottom end torque. Edit: forums need spell check. :p

Well I found out while looking at the exhaust work that I am catless now. Looks like he kept my high flow cat. I am excited and dissappointed, since we didn't discuss taking that out. It will flow crazy nice how he has it set up. But I could of got $50 for the cat itself. I guess that is why he only charged me $50.

Chico said a few words that I've always suspected but never read anywhere else:
Modding is addictive and expensive.
Truer words were never spoken. I didn't do any mods this weekend, just oil change, check tire pressure, fluids, wash the car & did manage to detail the wheels and tires.
And I feel like I missed out on something.
{Casts my eyes about for next mod}
Congrats on a job I'll bet you're glad to be done with, and at a darn good price. Know anyone that wants to sell a $50 cat?
