I've been looking into a GPS in Dash Screen to fit in my 02 Grand Prix GT. I called up a guy at best buy and asked if the pioneer in dash gps systems they had were able to fit in my car, the guy checked and said no cause it was double din and that I needed 1 1/2 din (could've been dim...not sure) Anyhow I'm looked at crutchfield and the only one that I think will fit is the cd player that has a fold out screen...I want an in dash screen, im kinda stummped cuz I have nowhere else to look. Is there any place that sells a in-dash gps touchscreen that would fit in my grand prix?

Most likely not, the guy's right, you need din and a half to fit in there and as far as I know hardly any in that size are made, and if so, they would be a TON of $$.
The best and only real option is to buy a single din fold out touchscreen unit and buy an adapter to make it fit.

I am planning on getting a kenwood head unit that is a double din size. As you can see there is a substantial amount of border so the only modification I will have to do is making the unit fit behind the dash cover Going to be a fun project, that is for sure.

Very nice, but I want the indash model so I don't block the vents and the way i am planning will make it look like factory equipment and deter theft as well.

Might need to take it to an audio shop and have them price out what it will take, I know Chunkee can afford that! Also try an internet search and see if someone has already done so, its possible they have.

You would have to hack your dash for a double din to fit. That's not going to work without some serious modification.

Well, considering I only have 1,400 to spend Im goign to have to go with the single din, may block the air vents, which I am pissed that its going to do that...but its not too big of a deal to me. I get lost very easiley so Im goign to want navigation in my car, and Ive always wanted a touch screen monitor, so im goign to go with that, so i can then take my satatlite radio unit and get rid of it, cuz i can run satalite radio right off of it. Itll make things a little easier for me.

I am planning on doing this myself. I have more than a few years installing headunits under my belt. When I get around to it, I will make sure to do a write up on what has to be moved/cut, etc.

7" x 4" x 6-1/2"
See, that is what I was looking for, dimensions..
6.5" deep is good, shallow depth 7" wide is normal width for a head unit 4" tall...that was the crucial dimension I needed to know..
Does anyone have a stock unit and can measure it for me?
