No, this is actually a warm air intake, this might actually hinder your performance believe it or not, you want something like this... http://macgp.clubgp.com/howto/cai/cai.html or http://www.johnvegas.com/Fwi.htm

I'd get a cone filter and the install kit from PFYC.com, then go to Home Depot or some other home improvment store and buy a small roll of Reflectix and foil tape for about $25, and get a couple of square feet of cardboard from somewhere. Install the cone filter and cut the card board into sections to box in the filter. Cover the cardboard on both sides with the reflectix and put them in place. Use the foil tape to get everything sealed up nice and tight.

A couple of points, sure the polished tube looks nice but that filter looks pretty small ,the price is not bad but look at the shipping ,and as said before unless it is isolated from the engine heat it does little for performance,I'm sure it could be used as a starting point and then build a cold air box, there are plenty of how to's around if your handy it should be no problem if not save your money for one of the prebuilt units around check out the classified on CGP there are always used ones for sale.

As for the sound when it's cold it sounds terrible like the engine is gonna come apart. When I got put my intake on, it did this too. I'm so glad that it wasn't just me who this happened to. Does your engine also idle at slightly higher RPM's before it warms up? As mine does. Does any of this hurt the engine? Also, I went with the Wizaired CAI from ZZPerformance. Great people, and I know its expensive, but a very, very solid product.
