When installing these little guys - http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=403&PHPSESSID=03c4e2eb04bb03136b1d16224e840466 - Is it as simple as it looks? Just unscrew that top nut? Wouldn't that be under extreme pressure from having the strut being held on by it? Or is it pretty easy?

Also, I put on my Koni struts about a week ago, and would that adjustment knub play any strange role in this? Would I have to make sure it is tightened back to a specific amount?

Thanks guys. cheers

Yes. Quite a bit actually. The rebound is 100X better, but the pogo is at least 3X worse.

The first thing my lube shop buddy said to me after we installed them was "Oh damn..! Was your ride always this bumpy?"

And we weren't even out of the parking lot yet.

Sooooo... I'm not so crazy about them, I guess. I hope these make a difference.

EDIT - I am currently trying to do them, and the top nut just keeps spinning freely. It's twisting the metal column itself, I have no idea how this can be done without complete removal. Even ZZP said I could do it from the top of the car, and now I am confused. cheers

Hello,

I would like to suggest trying an air impact wrench. That's what we've used in the past with success. If it doesn't work for you, you will have to get a socket like a spark plug socket with a hex to put a wrench on. With a wrench on the Hex, you can slip an Allen Wrench through the ratchet hole to hold the strut rod from spinning. This may be your only option if you plan on doing this in the rear.

Good luck.

Later now,
Clint

What if you have Koni's, and where the hex would be, its a little straight adjustment knob?

When I installed Bilsteins in my wife's truck, they have a hex machined into the rod which protrudes through the nut. I had to hold the rod with an allen wrench while turning the nut. Otherwise, the entire thing spun and I was not able to loosen the nut.
