Here is a cheap and easy fix for the 4t60e's shifting ,since you have a vacuum modulator to assist shifting you can buy a cheap and adjustable vacuum modulator, the part # at auto zone is mv303 ,if they ca'nt find the part # ask for a trans. vacuum modulator for a 96 GP with a 3.4 ltr.,on the top of the part turn clockwise 3 turns for a firmer shift .Chico.

You said on the top of the part turn clockwise 3 turns for a firmer shift, was that three full clockwise turns?

Thanks! And this menas more time between gears?, making them harder is because this time is reduced?, or what is the advantage? Sorry to do this, on this topic but have you heard of this? http://www.techvelocity.com/gtp/trans.htm

Ok so I bought the 96 GP GT trans vacuum modulater and here are some pics. It is different than the the stock one I have on my 97 GT. It fits and is in secure. I just wonder about the 3 turns? The nipple has a slotted (screw?) I turned it three times, i.e. half turns, not a complete 360. So I wonder is it 3 complete 360 degree tunrns? I will post a pic of the container with the part number on it later, I got mine from Checker auto parts.
