I've searched a little but can't fnd how to do the rear gasket. Does anyone have like a step by step on how to do the rear. Thanx in advance.

its pretty straightfoward. I belive since you have a 2000 that you have to unbolt the alt. bracket. After that just unbolt the valve cover itself. The bolts are around the edges.

Yep, after you get it off, just make sure to get the mating surfaces as clean as you can, then bolt her back down with the new gasket.

You might have to move some vac lines and/or wiring out of the way also. And possibly the heater core/return hoses may be in the way. It's pretty simple though.

i think everyone knows the pain of the back one its under some annoying stuff like the alternator but definatley get the mating surfaces clean like rook said......good luck

you can see here where the alternator is already off but the bracket is still in the way its like 3 bolts for the bracket or something....ones kinda hidden but just feel with your fingers for it.....

What is that red stuff in your combustion chamber? That is NOT supposed to be there. I went ahead and removed the alt bracket and all wires around the valve covers. It was ALOT of work, but life was so much easier.

Its the coolent, it comes out of the ports when you pull the head off. some paper towels and all is good

Wow, when I tore my 3100 apart, the coolant didnt, like, spaz out and spill everywhere.
That spiral-shaped thing does LOOK like it would be the cam, though. Looks like lifters on it.
