Well! It tis time to change my tires. I've past 47,000 miles with the ones that I have and I am ready to replace. I currently have the Goodyear Eagle GT-HR. They have been quite nice so far and I am thinking that if they have worked twice, why not again?

What is everyone else driving on? I kinda like White Lettering on the sides, anyone recommend any brands?

cheers As always, thanks guys.

I've used Kumhos on my last two cars and had excellent service from them. 55k on one set alone, never had a blowout or pierced sidewall (or tread for that matter) very good all season performance and all at a reasonable price...I dont think they offer white letters tho...but then I never asked...just my 2 cents laugh

Hello,

Just FYI.
You won't find white letters that are rated for more then 118MPH.
Plus, White letters only come in 16" and smaller.

Later now,

I've got the Yokohama AS430s and I haven't had any complaints about them so far. First time I've ever had Yokohamas.

Sheese thunderbat! Your mods to the GP are getting out of control!

Steve, I was looking into those. How is the road noise and the snow traction?

Everyone else: How is the Hydroedge and Traction T/As against noise and snow.

I have Aquatred 3s and the noise is unbearable.

Low noise... never paid attention or notice the noise actually. thumbsup

Snow... it's not a snow tire but it handles well.

Go to tirerack.com There you can get a good selection of tires and compare one model to another as for dry wet snow tire wear etc.

Goodyear Eagle HP's..... expensive, but they last a looooooonnng time, and man they stick to the road like you wouldn't believe. but like I said they are EXPENSIVE they only come in Z-rated, and they don't make them in stock size anymore, but that's what I'm getting when my baby needs new shoes laugh laugh laugh

Those look cool Herc. Reminds me of a guy back in Michigan that I knew who had a Dodge Intrepid. It was painted EXACTLY like Bill Elliot's red Dodge and even had the yellow lettered tires.

Those are great looking tires Herc!
Exactly what I would have gone with if I wasn't worried about the speed rating.
The only thing you need now is a black rim to go with them.... wink

I saw an '85 Monte SS mocked up like Earnhardts on the street the other day. I would love to give my car the Nascar look without the decals.

Later now,
Clint

Tell me how they handle herc. I'm still deciding.. (yes I take lost of time, consideration, and plan alot when it comes to something new for my baby).

Alas, I am leaning toward the FireHawks. They are rated better over the Nascar #1's... i'll have to read more reviews and do more research. This is a big thing. Tires can go a long way, if the right ones are bought, and treated correctly.

I wasn't too worried about the speed rating since my car has only reached triple digits a handful of times(can't remember the last time it's been so long)I don't tear around corners like I'm at a race track and I my car has yet to see a dragstrip. So I thought these would be good for my driving style and I like the looks of them. They go with my pace car nicely. I'll post pics when I can. Besides they are a step up from the ones I have now which are some kind of touring tire from good year (they came with the car)

Ok all There on and here's the photos. I really dig how they look. Lately I've been saying to myself something is missing from the side of my car and the white lettering takes care of that problem.

I'll have to agree with you TastyBake.

I've got the AquaTred 3 also. Last a long time and handle great in rain and snow, but DANG, they're way too noisy!! devileek

I've got 50K on mine and they still have plenty of tread left on them. banghead

I'm lucky. My tread is FINALLY going down. Its now almost unbearible to drive on the highway.

Herc: Nice! I didn't know they came in white letters. I thought you can only get yellow. Oh, and I've been on tire rack comparing tires. I'm looking for a low noise, high quality tire that can handle snow the best. Speed is not an option. 118 rating is fine with me.

Probably going to go with the Traction T/As.

I drive on Kumhos as well...I like the handling of them, but the road noise is pretty loud. I have a hard time talking on my cell phone over it on the interstate. But, for the price, the performance is amazing. I got mine on tirerack.com and they were great.

So far the Eagle #1s are a little noisey not too bad but more noticeable then the last set of touring tires I had. But I can live with it because these tread blocks are DEEP!! Should be good in the snow. More reviews to follow after I get em scuffed in and do a little corner work with em.
