According to L67 swap.com when I tried you can't swap and l67 for an l36 in a 97 GT b/c there is alot more to it then just a swap. I can't find out what it is but when I asked they said its not worth it and to trade in my car and get a GTP. You can check tho.

I have heard also that 97's are particularly hard to swap compared to the 98-03's. I don't know why but that's what I've heard. Maybe you could email Morad or ZZP and see if they've done it and if so if it's really as hard as it's cracked up to be.

If nothing else, you could just buy a '97 l36 engine and mod the crap outta it before you put it back in!

the 97's do pose a few problems in a L-67 swap but nothing that can't be overcome ,the easiest swap would be from a 96 bonneville SSEI it was the first year for the series 2 L-67 and it used a 4T60E HD trans.Chico.
