Good question? Although I had a 99 with manual control and a 98 with digital control i never looked at the difference between the two as far as how they connected......

From a design stand point you would think that they did, however the digital does have a external sensor that is below the front bumper....

Hello,

This is a good question....

I'm thinking that the digital climate control has sensors in the cabin that keep the temperature at the requested level.
The newer version that is not digital may not have these sensors, but, mainly relies on the user to make adjustments accordingly.
This may not be correct, but, if it is...You're looking at building a whole new "climate control system".
Hopefully someone who knows will chime in.

Later now,
Clint

Woulnd't it be easier to just keep the manual controls.........I have the manual now in my 04 gt and i like it better than the cheap ass control in my 98 digital setup. Becuase the digital would always turn on automatically and just goof up and freak out......all technical terms just leave it...

I've seen more people swapping the digital for the manual.

I had a digital system in my 99 Vette - I hated it -- Give me a manual any day... And I am a digital guy!

But on your question... Is the digital auto climate control? or just digital? If it is auto climate then yes you will need to add sensors.]

This may be a question for TallPaul == post in the 04 section he will reply. He is a sharp fella. Also he is a GM tech.

you dont want digital, at least not pontiac digital.

had mine replaced under warranty cause it got stuck at the 102 degree mark so my ac would scream thinkin it had to cool the int to 72. it was joke..

when things were replaced under warranty i never was concerned with cost. but this time i was cause i figured if it went once itll go agian, so i asked and they wanted 365 big ones not incl install.

stick with manual it s cheaper im sure.

so stay cool and go hammer down hammer especially if i see the "interceptor" wink , where you at jizz.... :p
