Would anyone trade a 98+ gtp for my 99 GT? It's a red 2-door with a sunroof. It has 66,000 highway miles. The only mods are a k&n airfilter and dynomax mufflers with dual chrome tips, sony mp3 headunit and a 1,000 watt memphia amp with 2 autotek ss 12's and 1 jensen 12 all 500 watts a piece. Im just wondering, I can throw some money in also. But I really want a GTP.

Why don't you just work on your GT? You'd be surprised what you can get out of them.
Check it out.

i'll tell you what i am eying up. zzp is coming out with a M90 install kit for our L36 (GT engine).
http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=382
I've added up the cost of doing it, and its around $1400-1500 if you get your own M90 supercharger somewhere for around 250-350 (used or rebuilt probably).

that, with my other mods, should put me closer to the safety limit of my tranny -- don't feel like putting a few grand into that.... yet.

and yeah, theres also the turbo kit like allaboutspeed got...for about $3000. lots of potential there.

GTPs are just a little cheaper to get more power out of them cause they already have a supercharger on it that you can smack a smaller pulley onto. then they have to worry about knock retard.

You get what you pay for. $1500 for 40 Hp or $3000 for 96 Hp to the wheels. But there are cheaper ways to go, those two are all encompassing, for those amounts you can do alot of smaller things.

From what I can see, why don't you add PEMS, 3" DP, hi-flow cat and 2.5" pipes?

You can get decent HP from a GT. Ask Chico. He's the GT god.

What I would do is sell the GT. And buy a GTP. I have a GT, and trying to keep the three GP's I have. The GTX was the hard one to find.
Wish you the best.

I'll trade you my GTP for your GT.

Not. You must be a comedian smile

First off ask yourself what are your goals for your car as in Is it going to see track duty? is it gonna be your daily driver? Are you looking for a little more oomph? etc. If you want a race car go the turbo route and expect to put up lots of cash for supporting mods. If you want a "quick" daily driver then forget the forced air and go with intake and exhaust mods coupled with a new pcm. There are plenty of mods for that 3.8 that'll make a stock GTP worry.

Herc's on the money. I outran plenty of fairly stock GTP's before I went turbo. My mods at the time were PCM, Exhaust Manifolds, ram air, 3"DP, SLP loudmouth, Stage 2 throttle body, shift kit.
So save yourself some money and be different, stay GT.
