I want to pull my LCS so that I can clean the Dexcool sludge off of it. There is a metal clip just infront (radiator side) of the sensor. Does this clip just pull up?

How far up can I pull it? All the way off or does it just move up an inch or two?

Thanks in advance, guys.

The metal clip removes completely, but it's an odd shape so be careful removing it, and then you can remove the sensor and give it a proper cleaning.

Make sure that if your coolant isn't actually low you are prepared for it to come pouring out from the sensor's spot.

You talk about the DexCool sludge. If I was to flush out my coolant tank, could I use the normal anti-freeze in my car?

I know GM uses dexcool, but I hear its crap. Again, that is what I hear, I am no mechanic.

As long as you flush out all the dex you can run any kind of anti-freeze you like.
