Hi Group:
I have a 2000 white GTP that I bought new in March of 01. Car is pretty much stock except for K&N filter. Have painted the calipers red and put white reflective decals over the emblems. Car has 45K on it, going to get trans fluid/filter changed (agree with group about no flush) also getting a slight coolant smell under hood, can not see anything other than very minor seeping. Any other things I should look for in the PM area? Only things done are new serpentine belt at 40K. (seemed early) New tires next month, going to try the TripleTreds. Thanks for any info. Bob

Hello,
Welcome to the board. Funny you should mention such a smell...... Just this weekend I changed the intake manifold gaskets on a White 2000 GTP because coolant was leaking out onto the manifold. The gaskets had 2 locations that failed. Mind you, the person has been noticing the smell for several months, and it wasn't until recently that a visual indicator showed it's self. Check your T-stat connection, hopefully that's the location of the leak. If not, check around all of your injectors and the lowest portions of your intake manifold, that's where the coolant will puddle if you've got a leak.
Later now, Clint

Now that he is here... I don't think his car is going to be stock for long. BTW, Welcome to the board!

Welcome!
Recommend checking the coolant level. It could be that the coolant is starting to leak inside the intake manifold. Very expensive if the dealer has to fix it.
As far as the triple treads, the user surveys from Tirerack.com ranks them at THE best on all levels (dry, snow, wet, e.t.c) I was looking at getting them also. Note they will be noiser than other softer tires.

I haven't got to try them on snow yet but they are awesome in rain and I actually don't notice a difference in road noise. Plus they leave really sweet burn out marks. (I had to do it just once)
