My buddy is a GM guy but hes never owned a Pontiac before and hes looking at the Grand Prix GT he likes the dual exhaust pipes and the racy look.
Hes looking at either a 2003 or 2004. Do you guys like the 2003 better since it was the last year of this body style or the new look 2004???
I read that Consumer Guide called the 2004 a poor choice. I like the 2003 better. Any thoughts???
Was the 2004 a step backwards???

I choose the 03 body style over the 04. I have never regretted it.

Just like any other car that goes to the next style, there is a chance of new problems and issues that haven't been experienced by others until years later. I am not sure of the issues, but there is the possiblility.

'03s have their unique quirks as well, being a last year production. Mainly an issue with modding, not reliability. Personally, I prefer our '97-'03 body style.

I can't seem to like the 2004 models for some reason so thats why I have a 2002, the body style of the 97-03 is better looking to me.

My uncle owns an 04 GT and my grandpa recently purchased an 07 GT with the supercharged engine (which allowed me to get his old car, the 98 GT) and they both love their cars and have had zero problems with them. The interior is so much better in the the 04+ cars but the exterior compared to the 97-03's is lacking to me. It all comes down to preference, have your buddy test drive one of each and see which one he likes better.

Most people here will probably say the 97-03. Go to the 04 & newer forum, and most of them will probably say the 04 style. lol

I like the look of the newer body style, and with the PFYC Inferno appearance pkg it looks truly awesome...I test drove one and while I love the fold down rear seats, huge trunk and cockpit layout, I was disappointed on how much interior room shrank...especially rear headroom/legroom...but aside from those issues I think its still a sweet car and the GXP w/5.3DOD V8 is a potent ride.
As was mentioned before, the 03 represents the end of a model run and any quirks are probably all but gone...as usual its a matter of personal tastes but I dont think either car is a bad choice.

You must mean the GP GXP, because they stopped making the Bonne in 05. I love the look of the Bonne GXP, but its been out of production for a while now.

I say go with the 2003 Pontiac. Why? Because of the body style. I cant get used to the newer 04-07 Pontiacs. I dont care for the look they have. I dont know maybe its just me.
