I want to throw in a 1000 watt PG amp with 2 10" subs, but have a factory head unit. I dont want to replace it, so i wanted to get a LOC (line output converter).

How do you wire in a loc to a speaker wire, like say the rear speaker, I want that speaker im taking the wire from to still run. I dont know how to still get a good signal to that speaker, and to my amp, from the same wire. Or maybe theres a way around that.
Any help?

Just splice the LOC into the rear speakers, you will need a Left and Right speaker so use both those speakers, just splice into them so you can still use the speakers. after that, rught the remote wire from the HU, and the power from the BATT.

the rear set of speakers is actually 2 sets of 2 speakers. Does it matter which one i tap into?
Also:
where do i run the power. I know i take it through the firewall and along the floor panels, but do i have to take out the back seats or what? Is there a easy way to get the power wire to the trunk?
What's the best way?
thanks!

Just route it like you said, and it should be able to slide underneath the rear bench seat if you take the lower part of the seat out. You need a + and - from left and right speaker. Usually a colored wire and a colored wire stripped. And use the left rear and then right rear.

Where could i hook up the remote wire to? I dont have a power antenna, and I have absolutely no clue how to wire it in to the factory HU.

I forget what wire I used... I just took a volt meter and looked for a wire that was powered on and off with the HU... There is one back there, so might take some searching and dusting off volt meter skills.

There's nothing simpler i could use? Maybe something closer to the trunk? I dont know anything about HU wires and connections. I was hoping for something like the most popular Power Antenna route.

How would i get to one of those wires behind the HU, and also how would i tap into it with the remote wire?

Can it be like a rear tail light i splice into? Would that work?

thanks

you could use the power drop.

i put the wire for my amp in with the windshield wipers. they are on when the car is on or in accessory mode. it works nice.

Where in the firewall do i run the power wire? is there an existing port somewhere i can run it through? If there isnt, where if the best place to run it through.

Intructions in the simplest terms will help most :-D

thanks

I ran mine right in the center of the firewall, there is a huge rubber grommet I poked a hole through and pushed the wire through.

Did you poke a hole through the grommet? If so what did you use.

Or did you push it along the side of the grommet?

I'm having trouble finding a way get it through the grommet.
